David DiVincenzo

Event Director

David has been directing events for Planterra clients since 2010. He designs every aspect of a Planterra event – from its menu to décor, floral needs and every detail in between - to make our clients’ visions come to life.

David brings with him 15 years of professional experience in arts fundraising, programming and event planning. He has worked at such prestigious places as Pace MacGill Gallery, the Noguchi Museum and one of Estee Lauder’s family foundations in New York. David is a graduate of both Albion College and Brooklyn College. He also attended the Atelier Léo Marchutz in Aix-en-Provence, France. In his free time, David has developed a deep understanding of wine and art. He’s also our resident pop culture expert.

William Cotcher

Floral and Display Director

William joined Planterra in 2005, bringing along more than two decades of floral and horticultural experience. He leads a team of professionals as our floral and display director. William manages the creation of all floral and décor displays for events. You’ll find him working on everything from crafting stunning bouquets or boutonnieres to one-of-a-kind centerpieces or garlands and unforgettable entry displays. If a bride can imagine it, William can bring it to life with flowers.

He is a graduate of Michigan State University. Before joining the Planterra team, William worked at Boston’s Baugh Haus Collaborative and Harding Botanicals. When he’s not creating memorable displays, he can likely be found in the garden or renovating his Auburn Hills home. William also spends plenty of his free time cooking or spoiling his nieces and nephews.

Chase Faulkner

National Accounts Coordinator

Chase joined our Planterra team in 2014. He currently serves as our national accounts manager, working as a liaison who links our national accounts with our Horticulture department. Chase keeps key lines of communication open within the company and has a knack for making sure all needs are being met - in a professional and positive manner.

He is a graduate of Henry Ford College where he studied business administration. On his off-work hours, Chase enjoys spending time with his family and surveying the night sky with a telescope.

Danielle Ryan

Botanical Stylist

Danielle creates and designs interior landscapes for Planterra as our botanical stylist. Danielle counts herself as an ardent advocate of Ecotherapy. She believes in the power to improve one’s mental and physiological well-being through outdoor activities and a connection to nature. Danielle understands that it’s possible to create this benefit in the work environment and at home.

She studied studio art and graphic design at Oakland University. From an early age, Danielle showed an appreciation of the arts, culture, music, and design. She grew up playing the violin and actively pursuing theater arts and vocal performance.

A West Bloomfield native, Danielle enjoys spending time with her children. She spends her free time making the most of her Michigan surroundings – often swimming or boating in the summer and snowmobiling or skating during the winter.

Kirsten Nielsen

Horticulture and Design

Kirsten currently oversees Horticulture and Design at Planterra. She worked as a key member of our Horticulture Department for 3 years before earning a role managing projects and design for the company. She creates functional and inviting interiorscape environments.

Kirsten holds an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Oakland Community College and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a concentration on resource management and sustainability from Oakland University. During her time at Oakland University, Kirsten mapped invasive plant species around campus as part of a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

When she’s not at work at Planterra, Kirsten can usually be found outdoors. She has a passion for urban agriculture as well as vegetable gardening. Her hobbies include apiculture - also known as beekeeping - maple tapping, fishing, and kayaking. Kirsten strives for a connection with nature in nearly all she does and welcomes the chance to bring a bit of the natural world indoors through her work with Planterra.
