CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF PLANTSCAPING

After nearly a decade designing indoor and outdoor gardens in New York City, Sarah Stalker relocated to Detroit and joined Planterra as our full-time, in-house Landscape Designer. She now serves as Planterra’s Creative Director. Sarah is an accomplished urban landscape designer who brings more than 20 years of experience in the horticultural industry to her work here at Planterra, and she demonstrates a commitment to sustainable and innovative design in all she does.

Her industry expertise covers all stages of landscape design and installation - from site analysis to master planning, collaborative vision boarding to design presentation and overall project management. Sarah also possesses an extensive horticultural knowledge and her Creative Director role at Planterra allows her to make the most of a passionately-honed plant palette.

She earned her master's degree in Landscape Design from Columbia University in New York (’11) and specializes in the greening of city spaces. In addition to her work here as a designer, Sarah teaches and lectures on many aspects of landscape design and gardening and is a sought-after consultant in the areas of cityscaping, the development of living walls, seasonal color displays, and container design.

Sarah is currently accepting commercial and residential clients for both indoor and outdoor projects nationwide.

Sarah is a fan of art, film, photography, and music. When she is not at work she can be found working on her 1920’s home and its garden, going to concerts, looking for art everywhere and enjoying her time in Detroit.
