Mums

One of the oldest cultivated plants, dating back to the 15th century B.C. in China. There are over 20,000 cultivars in the world, with some of the most popular bloom varieties originating from Japan’s Edo period where cultivation and hybridization flourished. Designer Notes

  • Mums in massed groupings make a bold color statement.
  • Seasonally available in a diversity of colors, including, white, yellow, orange, red, and purple. Varieties known as daisy mums feature yellow centers.
  • Florist grade mums are grown specifically for interiors in sterilized soil. Mums grown for the exterior are not acclimated for the indoors and can introduce pests into an interior environment.
