Designer Notes
- Blooms can last 4–6 weeks. To enjoy the longest bloom cycle, these plants require a rotation program.
- The Calandiva is a cultivar of the Kalanchoe with larger double flowers.

The Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a succulent grown for its tight cluster of blooms and also known as the Florist Kalanchoe. Not to be confused with a category of succulents also called the Kalanchoe, which are grown for soft and interesting leaves rather than blooms. The name comes from a westernized adaptation of the Chinese word Kalan Chau, which translates to “falls and grows,” likely referring to how the plant propagates in nature. It was introduced into commercial production by Botanist Robert Blossfeld, who brought the Kalanchoe from Madagascar to Germany in 1932.
